Cannot run loop while running system exec in Test Stand

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why the VI attached works when you run it on it's own but doesn't when you put it into Test Stand.

I currently have Labview 8.5 and Test Stand 4.1.

When I run the Labveiw VI, I do not have to close windows media player exe in order to make the Progress bar run but as soon as I place the VI into Test Stand (Main) and run from there, the progress bar stops at zero until I close the media player exe

I'm confused...

Thanks

Chris

Hey Chris,

Take a look at this KB, it explains the issue and how to correct it.

Can I also ask if you are using media player as just an example exe, or if you are calling media player as part of your application?

If this is the case I would recommend switching to an ActiveX interface for media player as this will provide you far more control.

Let me know how you get on.

Kind regards,

John

HI,

Yes I was just using media player as an example (thought everyone would have that on there PC). I am working on something else at the moment but will try your solution soon.

Thanks, will let you know what happens
