Can the rangefinder display in the robotics toolkit be used in normal LV?

I presume the rangefinder and other nav displays are just fancy xcontrols based on the picture control so it should be possible if the license manager permits it.

You are correct that the Robotics controls are xcontrols.  As long as you have the Robotics module installed (and licensed), then you can use them on any VI you create.  Note that since they are xcontrols, they cannot be used on RT or FPGA targeted VIs.

As long as build the exe from a development environment that has Robotics licensed, the built executable should work fine.
