Can't control Keithley 224

I have two PC:

 1. Dell PC - Win 7 - Card Agilent 82350B (GPIB-PCI)

 2. Power Macintosh 7300/166 - OS - Card NI PCI-GPIB IEEE-488-2 (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP356)

My problem:

I can remote the Keithley 224 with a programe Labview by MAC. But I can't remote the Keithley 224 with the same progmame by Dell PC.

When my progmame running, no announce form Labview but announce on Keithley's monitor is: "rEn". I checked carefully, make sure no errors on the device's address. I think that this programme has the problem with "program codes" for Keithley 224.

Please tell me how to debug!

This is the Keithley 224 manual: http://capem.buffalo.edu/lab-manuals/keith224quick.pdf

Hopefully some one will help you out

GURU is talking about the Tulip Passport.

Open NI-MAX

Select Tools >> NI-VISA >> VISA Options

Under my System select Passports

check NIVISA Tulip.dll

NI-VISA.JPG       Passports.JPG

Sorry for reposting in a dead thread but I have sort of the same problem. I'm trying to control a Keithley 2000 multimeter via an Agilent 82357B USB/GPIB Interface, but even with the NiVisaTulip.dll turned on, I can't detect the instrument in LabView, I can see that something is connected to that GPIB address in MAX, but that's all. Furthermore - where I can select od deselect the NiVisaTulip.dll it says "NiVisaTulip.dll -- NI-VISA Passport for Tulip (32-bit only)" And I'm on a 64 bit system. Does this mean that this feature only works with 32 bit systems or that it's doesn't need to be turned on on a 64 bit system?

Hello,

sorry for another post but I think I have a similar problem. I would like to use an Agilent 34401A Multimeter using 82357A GPIB/USB-Adapter. I followed several instructions in the internet and activated the Tulip Passport although I'm working on a 64-Bit system. I was able to discover the multimeter but when I run the 34401 examples from NI the multimeter returns errors:

+ 550 not allowed in local

- 420 query unterminated

the configuration works but the read attempt fails.

I tried this: http://forums.ni.com/t5/Instrument-Control-GPIB-Serial/Problem-with-34401A-DMM/td-p/1268148 but it doesn't work. Could it be that this driver doesn't work on 64-Bit systems.

Thanks in advance
