Can't add cRIO-9053 to NXG 5.0 project

Solved!
Go to solution

I'd like to try programming a cRIO-9053 using LabVIEW NXG 5.0.  I installed software using MAX, then attempted to add the system to my project using SystemDesigner.  It is not discovered, so I try to add hardware by address.  Here's the result:  Screen Shot 2020-06-25 at 11.08.16 PM.pngan error stating that NI Systems Management Service is not installed or running on the machine.

Any ideas?

Hi Jono - Thanks for the quick reply.  Yes I believe I have those necessary items installed.

Turns out using the repair feature of NI Package Manager didn't fix it.  But a fresh install in the following order did:

LabVIEW NXG

NXG RT

NXG FPGA

CompactRIO drivers, NI-VISA, NI-Serial

Ahh, that’ll do it! I wish it would force install in the order IDE, Modules, drivers.

always think repair is a bit of a waste of time, as much as I hate reinstalling, sometimes a necessity.

hope it’s pain free from here on 🙂

Cheers
