I have downloaded an installed LabView Player on my computer. The problem I'm having is when I move the LV Player's shortcut to a different folder in my Start\Programs folder; Windows Installer re-creates the shortcut. When I installed LV Player it didn't ask me where I wanted the shortcut to go and it's preventing me from changing it. Oh, The only time Windows Installer gets invoked is when I run Visual Basic's IDE or a program that was created using VB. My question is what's go on... how can I prevent this ***feature*** from occurring?
I installed LabVIEW Player to a Win2000 machine. I then moved the shortcut using the built in edit the start menu feature but the shortcut was still in the National Instruments folder. I eventually drug the icon off a regularly opened start menu (mouse down on the selection and drag),and it stayed off the menu. It even stayed off after a reboot. I hope this works for you.
