In LabVIEW 2017, I use MCC's ULx library in a similar way to DAQmx functions to access my MCC hardware. But, in NXG I haven't found a similar way to do this. Is using MCC hardware just not an option in NXG, or am I missing something (probably simple)?

I found this link to the library that I think you're describing: https://www.mccdaq.com/daq-software/universal-library-extensions-lv.aspx
The link only describes it as compatible with LabVIEW 2010-2019 (not NXG), but if you open the VIs you may be able to manually program it for NXG. You could also try the code conversion tool - I haven't tried this (and have heard people make fun of it) but perhaps it will work if the driver is simple enough, or at least give you a starting point to modify.
I would download it and give more specific advice but it requires a bunch of registration details. If you have more information (or the licence allows you to upload one/some of the VIs) I could look more closely.

... and if you expand the Q&A section on that page, your question is answered as NOT 😄
