CAN, NI-CAN1500, CAN Labview Drivers

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I'm currently using Labview 64 bit 2015 on win 7 64bit.

When loading NICAN1500.exe (CAN labview drivers) it forces me to load it in Program Files (x86) folder. Labview is installed in Program Files (without x86)

After loading it in x86 folder drivers do not show up in palettes.

I have loaded it twice. NI suggested force install from CMD done that and still forces me to load it in x86 folder.

Help plz.

Br,

Vachhani

Well, according to this whitepaper from NI, you can use their CAN drivers on 32 bit LabVIEW  only. The drivers themselves are 32 bit.. This can run on either 32 or 64 bit Windows 7, but the LabVIEW version is limited to 32 bit if you are planning to use CAN.

Sorry.

Bob,

Thank you for your reply. I loaded 32bit and it works.

I make one request to NI is to keep system and application requirements together.

I had not scroll down far enough to see it since I knew what module I was using.  I know its my fault but it can be avoided for future users.

Once again thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

KVachhani
