Build executable for RTE 8.5 from LabVIEW 2011 PDS

Hello everybody,

I spent hours of searching with Google but I don’t find an answer.

I’m using LabVIEW 2011 PDS and want to build an executable for the LabVIEW version 8.5. Is there any chance to get this task done? Even if I save the project for further version 8.5 and create a build, the runtime engine 2011 is needed.

The thing is, on the target is only the runtime engine 8.5 installed and there is no chance (don’t ask why, it’s depressing) to install a newer version.

Any hint would be helpful!

Hi,

it is not possible to build executables for previous Versions. You must save the Project for a previous version. After that you must open the project with the older version ( you can install LabVIEW 8.5 with the same serialnumber as LabView 2011 ) and than you build the executable.

Hey Floriabn,

have the same idea already (at the moment this is the solution for me 😉 ) but I’m not really happy with it. Think it should be an easier way for this task, like a combobox where you can select your build target or something like that. Thanks for your time!
