Build Installer Missing Packages (don't know what to install)

Dear Community

After starting with installation of LV2019 i observed that i have had big problems in building applications in LV2018x64 (error 3 could not load front panel)

This has been solved by removing all 2019 stuff and reinstalling daqmx 18.5.

Now the application builds fine again.

The big problem is now that the building of an installation package of my program always wants me to put in a CD with some unknown component.

I tried a lot of things installing LV2017 and device drivers and DAQmx's of different types but nothing solved the problem.

At the beginning of this problem it said that the NI VS2010Msms* is missing.

Then it asked me to put in the source NI mx LabVIEW Control Installer.

I pointed to any location where i have NI installable software but it never was the correct one.

I am really confused what I can do.

Here are some screenshots to see the details.

I am also confused that there are some check boxes not changeable (is this normal or the origin of the problem).

I also tried to make a absolutely new installer specification which should only use the recommended installers. In this case the problem is the same.

Thank you for your ideas to solve this problem.

I am also running into issues that began after installing LabVIEW 2019.

In this case, after trying to uninstall 2019, certain functions of 2016 and 2017 were uninstalled.  I have reinstalled 2017, but when I try to build the installer for my executable, I am asked for the installer for NI mx LabVIEW Control.  When I go to the directory (C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\MDF\ProductCache), LabVIEW says that the installer is not there.

Sure it is.  I just ran it again, and I still have the error coming up when I try to build the executable.

Update on this issue.  I had to uninstall everything related to LabVIEW 2019, including every support package.  This also removed my LabVIEW 2017 installation (Grrrr....).  The NI Package manager needs to be improved and remove dependencies only.

After that was done, I reinstalled LabVIEW 2017, the drivers, and support software for 2017.  Everything installed was either 17.X or 18.X when I was finished.  Only then was I able to rebuild the Installer package without any errors.

Something is really unhappy in 2019.

Just for Information

For me the suggested solution did not work.

Still the same problem. Now I reinstalled 2019 and tried to build the installer and the application on the 2019 platform.

The application is fine now, but the installer still has the same problem and nobody, (including NI support) does know up to now how to love it.

I will uninstall all Ni related software now and start gain. (boring job but no there is no better idea how to solve this) and nobody knows that the ni-mx installer means.

I only know that it works when is uncheck the DAQmx runtime 18.5 but this does not help as my software needs it and i don't want that i need a second installer for the software.

If there are any new ideas please let me know.

Thanks a lot for your input

That would be why I stated that I reinstalled 2017 to get things to work.  Could you use LabVIEW 2018, or was all of your development in 2019?

I submit that 2019 is truly unhappy.

Final update here from me:

I have been able to successfully build on LabVIEW 2017, both EXE and Installers.  It's been a long process, but here is what I have:

Something was corrupted when LabVIEW 2019 was installed.  At this time, I also had NXG installed though I had never used it.  I ended up uninstalling everything, including NI Package Manager.  Once that was done, I reinstalled LabVIEW 2017, VISA, DAQmx, and Serial.  I then installed NXG 3.0, and used NI Package Manager to upgrade it to 3.1.  Finally, I used NI Package Manager to update (not upgrade) everything.

I am now able to build the EXE and Installer in LabVIEW 2017 without the error.  I am able to run the Configure Report for Technical Support from NI MAX again (apparently an artifact of a botched(?) NXG uninstall prevented this report from being generated).

All I can assume at this point is that something was corrupted when I upgraded everything all at once, and I had to reinstall most things again in order to overwrite the corrupted file.

I hope that this helps someone.

I also have this issue when building an installer using LabVIEW 2017 with NI-DAQmx 19.0.  Has anyone gotten this combination to work building an installer?  Or is the only solution right now to uninstall everything and then reinstall LabVIEW 2017 with drivers that are pre 19.0?

I found that the issue was buried a little deeper.  I had to reinstall NXG 3.0 in order for everything to work right again.  I guess something was corrupted when the NXG 3.0 update was installed, and I had to uninstall and reinstall NXG in order to overwrite the problem.

Right now, I am using LabVIEW 2017 without any issue- building EXE and communicating with the power supply on the PXI.  And I am using drivers that are 19.xx.
