Bluetooth Device Type

Is there a way to discover a bluetooth device's 'Type of Device' (mobile phone, pda, pc etc). It looks to me that you can only discover address, name and services.

Hi,

You can only discover the mac and perhaps name of the bluetooth device, not it's actual type (unless you know what the address is, and bind that in a database or file to its type). You may be able to find more information out online by searching the first half of the mac address, but this will most likely only come up with bluetooth vendor and not device type.
