Black menu bar in LabVIEW 7. Palettes blacked out also.

On Windows 2000, I have tried installing LabVIEW twice, but both times I had the same problem. The installation goes through fine, but when I open the program, the background of the menu bar, tool bar, and all of the pallettes are black. Attached is a screenshot. Any ideas on the cause of the problem or a solution?

You can change the windows setting for these colors.
Right-click on your desktop and select Properties>>Appearance>>Advanced, and change the Menu color.

I have the same problem. I tried changing colors, but it didn't change the black menubar. I'm using the default settings.

hi

i once had this problem too. i played around with the resolution, frequency and number of colors of the screen untill i found some settings that worked. you should restart LV after the changes. you could also take a look at the graphic cards driver. maybe it solves your problem.

good luck

I tried the settings, nothing helped. I finally called NI and here's what they had to say...

Edit the LabVIEW.ini file by adding the following line at the end of the file:
menubar.background=d4d4d4

That fixed the issue! However, the icon background stayed black. No big deal since now I could actually see what it was I was trying to do.
