Bandlimited A weighted rms noise calculation

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello All,

I want to calculate bandlimited A weighted rms noise.   I am able to calculate the rms noise of analog signal without any bandwidth limitation.  Find the attached vi for the details.  I want to limit the bandwidth to some known values ( Say 20Hz to 20KHz) and then calculate the rms noise.

Please advice.

Thanks & Regards,

Siva

Siva,

What is the problem you are having?

I do not have the Sound and Vibration Toolkit but when I substitute a filter from the Signal Processing palette, I get changes in bandwidth and in the rms calculation.  The RMS.vi from the Mathematics >> Probability & Statistics palette produces the same value as the Statistics VI you are using. The Basic Averaged DC-RMS.vi from Signal Processing >> Waveform Measurements palette produces values about 3 orders of magnitude smaller.

Hi Lynn,

Thank you for sharing the detail.  In Sound and Vibration Toolkit also , I see some audio filters.  I can use and calculate the bandlimited noise.

Thanks once again for quick support.

Siva
