Add physical channel format

I've used a Labview executable that has fields for adding DAQ physical channels. However, the add channel field doesn't have the usual I/O symbol on left side of the pull down, it looks like just a blank control. Any idea how they did it (See attached picture showing my add channel option on left and theirs on right - they behave exactly the same when you click in the field).
