About Voltech PM100 Communication and Instrument Driver

Hi all,

Would any one use GPIB and VISA to communicate with Voltech PM100?

I have a question about thise device.
I want to read the time of power form the device.
(i.e. The power should be log for an hour, I want to direct read form the device, the power show on the screen is calculate from how much time processing)

I want to use it to calculate the integrate power.

Also, I don't find the instrument driver on this device. The site only have voltech PM300.

Hello,
I have visited the product page for the PM100 here.
After browsing through the documentation for the PM100 and PM300 it could be concluded that
they use the same function calls, so there is no harm trying the PM300 LabVIEW drivers for your PM100 device.

Otherwise there is no support for the PM100.

Thank you for your information about PM100.

I have teied the VI library that you mentioned in the website.

There are not much function support only some common function are offered for user use.

I will try to use basic VISA command to solve my problems.

Hello Robert,
You are quite right, using the VISA Read and Write you should be able to use string constants/controls to send the commands you need.

Did you used Voltech PM100 with Lab VIEW?

Can you publish your code? 

One of my application calls for measuring AC Voltage, AC current and Power factor. I need to log this data at an interval of 1 Second.

Can you suggest me the command set to do so?

I am using Lab VIEW 7.1 version.

JPG format will also be sufficient.

The PM100 and PM300 power analyzers are different versions of the same product so the driver is common to both.

The LabView driver is a little old and quite basic but is here on this NI website as a certified driver. (Dec 2011)

Search for "Voltech" or "vtpm300"
