AS5048A with NI-8451

Hello,

I am actually working on a cell AS5048A and I have got some issues.

I am trying to get angular information from the AMS cell AS5048A which is communicating with SPI interface.

I am using a software Labview and an USB-8451 from National Instruments.

I connected the AS5048A to a PCB dedicated.

According the the Datasheet of AS5048A, I try to access to the register x3FFF to get the require data.

The command package is the following one :

Capture.PNG

So I made this software to send information :

Diagramme.PNG

Front pannel.PNG

The only answer I have on my MISO signal is the address sent on the MOSI.

Did I make a mistake ?

Why the cell answer me the address sent ?

Thank you.

If you do a Search in this Forum (Search button is upper right) for 8451, you will find several posts that discuss using this module for I2C communication, a topic way outside my realm of experience.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. Before posting on this forum I did a lot of research, and as you say, their is a lot of subject dealing with I2C interface. The matter is that I2C and SPI are very different and this is really complicated to do the analogy.

I will continu my research.

Best regards

When I mentioned I2C in my previous response, it was only because I'd heard of it, and know even less about SPI.  Please don't take my comment as endorsing either protocol with this instrument!  Good luck with your efforts.
