9V DC output in Labview6

I have previously used LabView to run various experimental equipment via GPIB cables. I'm currently trying to set up an experiment where I want labview to apply 9V accross two pins of a scavenged computer hardrive reader head, where it will work as a home-made shutter. I can't quite figure out how to get my computer to output a 9V DC signal. In addition, I am using Labview 6, which I understand is ancient, but I use it so it's compatible with existing programs in the lab.

Without a DAQ card you can't generate voltages.  A simple solution is to get a power supply and a relay.   You can use your PCs parallel port (if you have one) to drive the relay coil, which will connect the power supply to your shutter.  Check out the examples for the parallel port if you want to go that way.
