Re: Introduction of new users

The ZUMOLab GbR offers research institutions and medium-sized companies individual solutions in the field of measurement and control engineering. We focus on the planning and development of set-ups as well as software development in LabVIEW.

About myself: I am Stefanie Kriescher born in a small village belonging to Vaals (NL). After completing my bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at the Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Heerlen, I went to the Eindhoven University of Technology to get a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. Subsequently, I completed my PhD at the Institute of Chemical Process Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. Within ZUMOLab, I form a bridge between science and set-up and software development. In addition to scientific consulting, I also program in LabVIEW.

Re: Introduction of new users

Hi everyone,
I am Aixa Werleman. I was born and raised on Aruba. I came to The Netherlands when I was 18 years old to study Biometrics in Heerlen. I’m now 22 years old, in my third year of Biometrics and doing my internship at ZUMOLab. I started programming with LabVIEW in my first year of Biometrics and am now doing my internship entirely with LabVIEW (NXG). I found this group through ZUMOLab and joined it because I’m interested in connecting with other LabVIEW users and hope to either help or get help concerning LabVIEW. I also have all the badges that NI provides and am now getting ready for the CLD exam.

Re: Introduction of new users

My name is Thomas Ferguson, I was born in Australia and finished school and my bachelor's degree in engineering in Brisbane, Queensland. I worked for 2,5 years as a light aircraft design engineer for Jabiru aircraft at a small country airport. I left this job in 2013 and traveled to Europe to study a master's degree in aerospace engineering. I am now fluent in German and study at RWTH Aachen University. I live in Vaals, across the border in the Netherlands and have worked with ZUMOLab since the beginning of my degree. My position is primarily design and engineering, with a particular focus on 3D modelling and printing. As LabVIEW is the core of ZUMOLab's business practice, I am developing my skills in graphical programming, and intend to complete the CLD certification by the end of the summer.

Re: Introduction of new users

My name is Andreas Köllmann. After my studies of physics at RWTH Aachen I have been working for a small acoustics company and later for TÜV Nord in Essen dealing also with environmental acoustics. Since 2008 I am leader of the Testing department of NEAPCO in Düren. NEAPCO is a manufacturer of half shafts for passenger cars and light trucks.

My programming with LabVIEW started in 2010 (Version 8.5). My current version is 2017. I have done successful exams as CLAD (only) every 2 years. But since this test has been outsourced by National Instruments, I did not go on with these exams. Up to now I have no experience with LabVIEW (NXG).

From time to time I develop programs for the control of test machines and the automation of data acquisition and analysis procedures. As I am the only real LabVIEW user in our company, I am always pleased to have some knowledge exchange with other users.

Re: Introduction of new users

Hello everyone Smiley Happy

My name is Pascal Heinen, I'm 39 years old and live in Heerlen in the Netherlands. I've around 13 years of experience using LabVIEW and NI hardware and I worked for 9 years in a small company in Aachen. There I was the sole LabVIEW programmer, responsible for the software part of a sweet of test-stands and production machines. Then I switched to VI Technologies ( www.vi-tech.nl ) in the Netherlands where I now work for almost 5 years now in a team of around 12 enthusiastic LabVIEW programmers. I'm a Certified LabVIEW Architect, Certified LabVIEW Embedded Developer and a LabVIEW Champion. I'm also one of the founding members of the Dutch LabVIEW User Group DutLUG

I'm interested in joining the LabVIEW-User-Group-Euregio because I think it is important to raise LabVIEW proficiency around the world. These user groups are a great opportunity to get to meet each other, network, learn and just marvel in the world of wires and VI's!  Smiley Very Happy

You can reach me here: pascal@vi-tech.nl

Hope to meet you all soon!

Re: Introduction of new users

HI am Sacha Tholl, Head of the FH Aachen Space Operations Facility of FH Aachen. We use LabView to control several aspects of our ground station, for example, the pointing of our antennas into the sky to track satellite passes over our aireal area or to telecommand our own CubeSat (our mission control software), or to predict future passes of satellites over our areal area. Currently, we are designing a Mission Command Application to TTC&M our Rover, which will be telecommand via a digital Repeater aboard OPS-SAT, a Satellite that will be launched into space in November 2019 by ESA.

I am particularly interested in using NI USRP's for future ground station operations or experiments in state of the art SDR Technology. Herein I would like to introduce our ground station and look for possible cooperations between NI and our group in the topic of space mission operations, satellite tracking, and space telecommunications.

Re: Introduction of new users

My name is Stefan Lemmens. I live in the south of Limburg (Belgium) and work at Intersoft Electronics. We develop tools for testing, configuring and upgrading radars. I use LabVIEW since 1999 (LabVIEW5.0) although I skipped some versions between 8.6 and 2013. Besides developing applications I also setup software engineering processes for LabVIEW e.g. source coude control, code analysis/reviews, unit testing, continuous integration... The main architecture we use is based on LVOOP with Actor Framework.

I heard about this user group at the DutLUG, which is a very nice user group I really like attending.
This new Euregio user group is an extra opportunity to meet new LabVIEW friends and share knowledge.

You can post me a message on this forum or on Twitter.

Or talk to me at one of the user groups. Smiley Happy
