Pika Energy, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to develop automated test systems that will be deployed across our global manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate in our technology space, self-motivated, and is a collaborative problem solver with excellent communication skills. As a member of a growing hardware team distributed between Vancouver, Canada, and Portland, Maine, this role will be instrumental in shaping the future of the emergent home energy space.
This position is based in South Portland, Maine.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete test plan, test specifications and test procedures for new products (NPI);
Design, assemble and deploy manufacturing ATE test stations to support manufacturing of Generac CES Products in facilities around the world;
Work closely with the rest of the R&D team to ensure that new products are designed to be efficiently and thoroughly tested;
Participate in new product design review and responsible for DFT delivery;
Utilize processes like FMEA to identify gaps in manufacturing and then design new processes to cover those gaps;
Implement automated processes to analyze data generated by test systems to identify anomalies;
Coordinate the test technical support for the internal service/engineer teams, and contract manufacturers, and occasionally travel to bring up new test systems;
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 20% travel, including international, and valid Driver’s License required.
