Save for Previous Version should stay that way

Status: Duplicate

When I save a vi for a previous version then the next time I open that vi and close it LabVIEW prompts me to save it because it was converted from a previous version. I should be able to open it, make changes, and save it again with LabVIEW remembering what version I wanted it saved for. Maybe the version could be a vi property?

Actually, the version number is already in the file. That's how you know which version a VI was written in when you open it with a newer version of LabVIEW, or you try to (unsuccessfully) open a VI written in a newer version of LabVIEW with an old version of LabVIEW. So, how is LabVIEW supposed to know that you're not simply opening a VI that was written in an old version that you, say, downloaded from the forums?

LabVIEW does not have any way of knowing that I am not "simply opening a VI that was written in an old version". That is the point of this idea. If I explicitly save a vi for an old version then there should be a property marking that fact. This way when I reopen the vi LabVIEW will know that I want it in some previous version and it is not something I downloaded from the forums.

So a property something like "Do not convert from previous version". That way I can just save the vi and not have to save for previous version every time.

One more thing. I looked at the related idea. This idea is a subset of that one so this can be marked as a duplicate.
