Keep time series in TSA Resampling

Status: Declined

Moved to CAR database: CAR 678101

I need to adjust the sampling rate of a Waveform, TSA Resampling VI accomplishes this task but it does not keep t0 value since it creates a new waveform instead of adjusting the original one.

I think an additional feature should be added to keep the reference of the original waveform, or specify in the documentation that you will have to modify the VI in order to keep t0.

This idea had me confused... I thought at first you were talking about "Resample Waveforms (continuous).vi" that ships with LabVIEW. But that didn't match your screenshot.

Turns out, "TSA Resampling VI" is part of the "Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit". I'll try to find someone who works on that product to comment. But in the meantime... I'm not sure why the toolkit even includes a separate VI... the "Resample Waveforms" that ships with LabVIEW seems to do exactly the same thing, only with more bells/whistles, including preserving t0. I'm not an expert in waveforms by any stretch of the imagination... can you use the other VI instead?

I spoke with one of the developers. The other VI that I mentioned is indeed more robust, but that may make it lower performance. Also, it appears to have been written after this VI. So it will work as a workaround, but the developer agreed we should fix this VI. Thank you for reporting the issue.

This idea will be closed and moved to our bug tracking database; you can reference it in the future as CAR #678101.
