It is like that in most OS and Software.
Checkboxes are often rather small compared to the text (caption or label) that describes it, so it would be nice to have an option on checkboxes so that a click on the caption/label would change the value of the checkbox.
That would save us some unnecessary event management.
We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.
