Bring back the State Diagram Editor

Status: Completed

The LabVIEW State Diagram Toolkit is available as a free download on the LabVIEW Tools Network. See here for more information: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/215729

The State Diagram Editor was a very cool tool and lots of LabVIEW users (not only beginners, far from!) are missing it!

And no, the state chart module is not a replacement for the State Diagram Editor!

Discussion here.

Kudos. Been dragging it upward since Version 7 and just installed it in LV2012 - it still works.

The SDE admitidly is a a little rough around the edges...
If NI exposed the SDE like the did the icon editor we would have something.

I've just watch Jeff Kodosky's speech at the wednesday's keynote... half way through I really thought he was going to announce some replacement for the state diagram editor, when he says engineers need graphical tools to help them design better software architectures, I couldn't agree more!

So really... I've now gave up the idea of NI bringing back the state diagram editor but... it's hard to accept that there is nothing to replace it.

Sad me.

Great the LabVIEW State Diagram Toolkit is available. However, using LabVIEW 2013, I cannot use the toolkit since it is only compatible for LabVIEW > 2014. Can anyone provide a version that is compatible with LV 2013?

Many thanks,

GE90: No. There were internal changes needed to make it work. You'll need to update to a more recent version of LabVIEW.
