Experienced with the design of software for commercial and institutional automation, process control, experiment control, data analysis, and data visualization. This has included, among others, 2D and 3D multiformat real-time data presentation, custom binary file formats, algorithm development, and direct hardware control via digital I/O, serial communication, and DLLs for motion, valve, and instrument control, and ADC/DAC control. Labview development has also included interfacing with C code and MATLAB scripts. Also skilled in C/C++, Python, Visual Basic.
Major projects:
1. Created the software to drive a DNA synthesize, including motion control, complex algorithm to handle 384 separate chemical reactions happening in parallel in different well plate cells.
2. Major new version of HDCV, the Cyclic Voltammetry experimental software for the Chemistry department of the University Of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Project included: four channel synchronized I/O on a DAQ board; a custom binary file format replacing a multiple-chunk approach for storing long experiments; interactive scrolling through time in these data files; interactive vetting of meaningful events; 2D and 3D graphs; principal component analysis of the results. 3. Software for the control of a commercial clinical radiopharmaceutical synthesis system including valves, pumps, mechanical motion, radiation detection, and process monitoring.
