CLA looking for a new career path.

Hi everyone, and especially employers. Due to some recent "life events" I have decided to make a change to my existing career course and pursue a role that more heavily involves development of systems that are in LabVIEW's wheelhouse, so to speak. I don't know exactly who is hiring or who, specifically, to make my appeal to, so I'm going to start with a post right here and will be eternally grateful for any leads, pointers, referrals, or help that may result.

My past: I have a degree in Neuroscience (mostly biochemistry) and some post-grad school in biomedical sciences. I have worked in R&D at Big Pharma for the last 18 years. In that capacity I have been an automation specialist (it's where I learned that engineering was my true calling and passion, biochemistry less so). I do a lot of laboratory automation focused on all manner of scientific instruments and integrating them with robotics to perform experiments that scientists used to do at their bench with their own hands. Inevitably I would end up getting roped into more biochemistry/scientist sorts of responsibilities and would spend less time than I wanted on the engineering side of things, such is life at a pharmaceutical company and is part of the reason I want a change.

I have worked on small scale systems meant to replace single repetitive tasks as simple as loading analytical instruments with samples, up to large multi-cell automation platforms that perform 100K+ individual experiments, from soup to nuts, in a single day, as well as designing specialized solutions to make that happen - everything from driver development, interfacing with industrial hardware, integrations between APIs, PCB design, CAD design, and CAM for CNC machining custom parts.

My NI/LabVIEW experience: I'm a Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA). I've been developing in LV for ~13 years, working both alone and in a small team that we sustained by teaching new hires over the years. I have a lot of experience with, and feel absolutely comfortable with many of the main LV architectures (DQMH, Actor Framework, and of course plain old QMH & state machines). I've been using LVOOP for about 9 years, at this point it's hard to imagine not using OOP in a project, and I have experience using NI DAQS for digital/analog IO and a some RT/RIO development as well.

Other programming: While I'm most proficient with LV, by far, I have experience with VBscript/Jscript, dabbled briefly in C years ago, and a number of domain specific scripting languages. I am self motivated to learn new languages and I am currently in the self-teaching stage for C# and C (with the goal of using it for microcontrollers).

Other engineering: I have experience, and enjoy, 3D solid modeling in CAD and designing tool paths for CNC mills/lathes in CAM, or for output to 3D printers.

I am located in the Philadelphia area, willing to travel near & far as part of the job, or do things remotely if necessary, but I can't relocate permanently. I am a natural born US citizen, if that matters. Please reach out to me here on the forums or via LinkedIn if you think I could potentially be of value to your team or if you wish to refer me to someone. I am available, and ready to start yesterday. While I'm absolutely desiring something full-time, I am willing work on an ad-hoc/contract basis if that's what it takes to get things started.
