Biography: I started my career in LabVIEW while I was a test technician in a rechargeable battery research center in 1993. My then boss approached me and challenged me to develop a flexible and reconfigurable test system that we could maintain in-house. The problem at the time was the high cost of paying contractors to continuously modify and upgrade our existing test stations. Starting from a clean slate, I researched all the available options and came up with (you guessed it) LabVIEW. Well, needless to say I was hooked.
After a few months of programming, I ran into a few difficulties. The Web at the time was in its infancy and there were no support groups available. In an effort to get some help I learned that there were people working for Alliance member companies who actually programmed LabVIEW for a living! Wow, I thought that would be a great job to have. Well, one of those companies (Microsys) became my new employer. My career path was set, and since then, using LabVIEW to develop automation has become my passion.
I've worked on a plethora of automated systems ranging from Automotive, Aerospace, Biotech, Manufacturing Test and RF\Microwave test systems.
I enjoy what I do and I use my experience to help others who are just starting out with LabVIEW. If you want to follow me on my journey through the LabVIEW world, head on over to vishots.com
