I grew up in Sheffiled, England where I studied at Sheffield Hallam University for a HND in Optoelctronics followed by a Degree in Physics it was during this degree that I first became exposed to LabVIEW 3.1.
After graduating I spent some time in the X-ray detection group at the synchrotron light source at Darebury laboratory where I grew my interest in visual programming.
I then joined global contract electronics manufacturer Celestica at their SMT facility in Ashton , England where I worked on automation of their optoelectronics test process.
This was followed by 8 years at Filtronic Broadband working on RF test and measurement solutions (using LabVIEW and TestStand) to be used in the testing of cellular backhaul equipment such as point to point microwave links and waveguide diplexers.
I also spent a significant amount of time developing an enterprise grade test data management system.
I then joined EADS Astrium as software manager in 2008 where I spent 4 years refining their software development process using LabVIEW and TestStand and also expanding their test data management capability.
Late in 2012 I moved to Portsmouth based NI Alliance Partner SSBV where I am the software technical specialist responsible for the architectural design and implementation of large scale test and measurement solutions (many of which are 40GHz RF for the space industry).
I am proud be chairing the 2nd annual Certified LabVIEW Architects Summit (Europe) in Paris April 6th thru 8th 2013
