What is a LabVIEW Champion?

A LabVIEW Champion is a top tier, National Instruments Platform enthusiast who has been recognized by National Instruments for their EXCEPTIONAL application development, technical depth and breadth, and leadership and contributions to the LabVIEW community.

A LabVIEW Champion is the first to stand up and defend the NI  Platform, but still has a healthy sense of critical evaluation of the platform, always pushing it to be easier to use and more powerful. The key is our Champions are positive contributors.

LabVIEW Champions are also credible technology experts from around the world who inspire others to learn and grow with LabVIEW through active technical community participation and face-to-face interactions.

LabVIEW Champions are not employees of National Instruments nor do they speak on National Instruments' behalf. LabVIEW Champions are third party individuals who have received recognition from National Instruments for their outstanding contributions to the success of LabVIEW.

Why did National Instruments start the Champions program?

The LabVIEW Champion title exists as a way to reach out to and thank outstanding community members for their participation and willingness to help others in these communities, both online and off, and also to provide them with the technical resources to help others in the future. LabVIEW Champions also provide valuable feedback to National Instruments through active LabVIEW testing and product analysis.

What are some perks of being a Champion?

  1. Front row seats and special recognition at NIWeek including the Champions Lunch with Jeff Kodosky.
  2. Direct access to National Instruments R&D via a private community forum.
  3. Advanced knowledge of the National Instruments product roadmap. A Champion's opinion is very important in evaluation and creation of product roadmaps.
  4. Special badge in the National Instruments community forums.

How are Champions "born"?

Candidates need to submit an application online, citing accomplishments and community contributions as well as listing sponsors, consisting of both, National Instruments staff and current LabVIEW Champions.

Every year, applicants from the previous year are reviewed and chosen to be admitted to the program. Submissions are now closed*.

*We are evolving the Champions program to align with our new operating model. Because of these changes are in flight, we will not be accepting new LabVIEW Champions in 2020.  We apologize for this inconvenience.
