I'm using a PXIe-4144 SMU to measure current. It will need to take samples for several minutes at a time, and according to pages 80-81 in the Instrument Studio's user manual, the Chart mode is used to "observe signals over an infinite duration". I've adjusted the aperture window in the soft panel to its maximum of 600kS/s, and I can verify this in the Waveform mode (opening TDMS file for a 0.5s window indeed contains 300k samples). However, Chart mode seems to be doing something to affect the sampling rate. Not only can I see that the samples' Count statistic is far too slow (10S/s), but the TDMS file created when Capture Data is selected will show a maximum of 10 seconds of data regardless of how long data has been recorded, even if I can see the data in the window. I need to have the same resolution as Waveform mode, but for a longer period than the 0.5s I get at 600kS/s.
Are there additional Chart configurations that I don't know about? Or is there a way to log concurrent Waveform captures to a single TDMS file?
