waters 2410 refractive detector data collecting using Labview

Albert is correct in that you can send signals from the AO of the Waters device to the AI channels of the USB-6008, and you should be aware of noise issues that could arise with this setup.  A good source for you to reference when setting up this system is our Field Wiring and Noise Considerations for Analog Signals tutorial. Also, you will need only the DAQmx drivers (downloadable from our website at ni.com/drivers) to interface with LabVIEW.

 

According to the specs for the refractive collector, its voltage output should fall within the range of the 6008.  If you see the 6008 begin to exhibit strange behavior, however, then you should unhook it and check the current output of the Waters device.  If the current output falls outside of the range for the 6008, then you could cause damage to the DAQ device.
