unable to detect agilent E5061B in NI MAX with VISA tcp/ip

Hi,

I am using LV2011 and VISA 5.4

I am unable to detect my Agilent E5061B with LAN connection.

* When using cmd.exe I can "ping" the instrument with the already set IP-adress.

* The instrument will not be present when I am creating a new VISA TCP-IP device

Has someone a description or a check-list I can follow?

Have you installed Agilent I/O Libraries on your computer?

It can help with troubleshooting.

Also, reading chapter 12 of the downloadable Help File - User Manual would be helpful as well.

Problem solved.

The solution is in the details. I have done several actions, and I am not shore whats requisite.

In the Agilent instrument - Network setup:

 - SICL-LAN server ON

 - Web server ON

In NI MAX:

 - VISA setup, check to Run the VISA server on start-up
