reading junk with RS232 PCI-8430 card

Hi,

I'm hainvg a problem which annoy me greatly.

I have an array of 16 devices, each with RS232 interface which I need to read to get its data.

I started with an example in Labview using the standard COM1 and labview application, and no problems, I used standard (not crossed) serial cable and read the correct data string.

I then bought and installed NI-PCI-8430 card to support the 16 devices, and now I have a problem.

When I connect the devices to the serial cable of the 8430 card, I read a junk string. Testing the same application with COM1 everything is fine, so the devices seems to output the data correctly.

Any thoughts on how to overcome this?

thank you very much in advance,

Eyal.

Greetings,

Typically I find that garbage data is a good indication that the port is not being read from properly. How are you defining the serial communication? I'd double check Baud Rate, Parity, etc.
