" MAX or Instrument I/O Assistant not installed correctly. Install from LV Driver CD "),

I have LV v8.2 and I recently went to a show where a NI rep handed me a driver update disk.  I blindly installed the driver updates and it rendered some operations in LabVIEW 8.2 useless.  One of those appears to be the Instrument assitstant.  I tried to fix it by downloading the VISA 4.6.2 and installing it but it tells me I have a newer version already installed.  How do I delete the "newer" version to go back to the older version?

tictic,

In order to get rid of the newer versions of the drivers, you will need to go to Control Panel»Programs and Features»National Instruments Software.  If you right click and select Uninstall/Change, a dialog comes up that lists all of the NI products you have installed.  Select the entry for NI-VISA x.x.x, where x.x.x is ther version you want to remove, and click Remove.  You will likely get a Dependent Products Detected box.  You will need to remove that software as well and reinstall if you still need it.  The software lists should be drivers, which will be relatively easier to reinstall.

Hope this helps,
