controling a T2500E

Hey Guys I having trouble with Controling my T2500E http://www.thermonics.com/products/T-2500E.shtml. I Am using a NI GPIB-USB-HS https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/model/gpib-usb-hs.html and made a program with Visual Basic 6.0. The problem i am having is that after making my .exe file it wont run the thermonics but if i open up the Measurement & Automation program and comunicate directly with the device and run my program it runs just fine. Im 95% sure my code it right as i also have a program the run afew agilent base stations and also some agilent powersupplies. Any help or ideas would be much appriciated.

Hi Jmichael,

I just wanted to clear up a few things. Does your program run properly in Visual Basic 6.0 before you make the .exe file? Also when you run the .exe do you get any errors or does the device just not respond? Also what do you mean by "open up the Measurement & Automation program and communicate directly with the device and run my program it runs just fine?" Do you mean run your program or are you just using Communicate with Instrument and testing it that way? A little more information would help me with your issue. Thanks

Ok first off i made this program before we moved our lab were i work and before the move the program worked before and after making the .exe file. ATM i dont get any error, the device just does not respond, what happens is for example when i click the "Head Down" Button (which should lower the thermonics head and start the air flow) the remote screen pops up for a sec and then goes away and nothing happens.

Also what do you mean by "open up the Measurement & Automation program and communicate directly with the device and run my program it runs just fine?"

what i mean is the if i open up the Measurement & Automation program that came with my cable and find the device and click the "communicate with instrument" button then minimize the screen that pops up and run my program i have no problems. I can provide screen shots if that helps you in the process of helping me lol.  Thanks for the time and help.

Hi Mike,

Could you send me a spy capture of the three cases you have described:
1. Program working
2. EXE not working
3. EXE working

To do a spy capture go to START>>Programs>>National Instruments>>NI-SPY
