VISA GPIB issue

Hi,

I can not connect anymore to my GPIB instrument using NI MAX. Everyting was working fine in the morning but after my PC went in sleep mode then I cannot scan for instruments.

The GPIB to usb device is working correctly on another PC and I can scan the same instrument.

In the attached picture you can see my system and driver versions.

Thanks for your help.

The usual debug list:

1. Reboot the computer.

2. Try a different USB port. I have a hub that for whatever reason refuses to work in a specific USB port on my computer, but works perfectly in a different one.

3. Try using an externally powered USB hub. I find that, especially on laptops, motherboard USB hubs cannot supply enough power for many devices. A good, externally powered hub removes the power issue from the computer.

Tim,  %99.999 the Windows Power Management settings shut down the USB port when the machine went into sleep mode!  External power will only save the device battery consumption and, if there is a wall outlet handy, why is the power manager letting anything go into sleep mode?
