USB usb to com adaptor

Hello,

I am using a USB to serial adaptor. Trying to perform the "loopback test" I received an 1073807246 error message saying that "VISA:(Hex 0xBFFF0072)The resource is valid but the VISA cannot currently acess it. Could somebody has an idea why this is happening? NI-VISA 4.4.1 is installed.

Please try the steps mentioned in this help topic:

VISA Troubleshooting Wizard: Error -1073807246

This error is usually caused by opening a session which has already been opened. Hope this helps!

Hi thorfano,

Sorry to hear you are still having problems.   A couple other things to check:

1.  Make sure you are not accessing the device from any other source
2.  Close all programs, and try communicating in a VISA test panel in Measurement & Automation Explorer.  Do you still get the error here?
