Can you supply the VI? It looks like you've communicated fine, it does the usual ID check, instrument returns a string and then it times out.
What happens if you disable ID checking?
Also use debugging to step through the Init VI code and see why it stops. Sometimes the driver doesn't take into account new ID strings (different options than expected, vendor updates firmware and driver doesn't keep up, etc..). It's happened to me a few time with Agilent instruments after they changed their name to Keysight!
