PCI GPIB Solaris 9 Support

We are currently using the 777462-01 PCI GPIB boards in our SUN Ultra IIi workstations running Solaris 2.5.1 OS along with the GPIB PCI driver software, PCI-GPIB v2.3, October 2003.  We have a mix of boards revisions dating from 2001 through 2004.

The government is in the process of doing an upgrade of both the workstations and OS.  I need to know if the old boards and driver will work in a SUN Ultra IIIi workstation running Solaris 9 v09/04 OS or do we need to get current ones.

The v2.3 driver was tested on a SUN Ultra 30 workstation running Solaris 64-bit version 2.9, so you should be fine.

Are there any diagnotics avalible that would allow checkout of the board in a harware suite with just the OS and driver?  Our customer is in the process of down selecting new hardware and would like to be able to install the board and check it out without having to install our classified software.

Your customer can run a software test once it's installed with the "ibtsta" binary installed with the driver.  If they have connected instruments, "ibic" will allow them to send and receive data from those instruments.  See the documentation that came with the driver for more information.
