PCI-5112 windows does not have driver associated

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I received a digitizer PCI-5112 and need to install it on a lab computer for our experiments. When I open NI MAX, it says " windows does not have driver associated with your device." Then I downloaded several drivers such as NI-Scope, DAQmx. But none of them get the device driven.

I saw some post says that this device is too old. Is there any way to run this device?

Another question: I installed the board following the steps in "NI High-Speed Digitizers" manual. Is it correct to install PCI-5112 as described there? The slot was mounted with PCI-6221 and it works. The reason we want to change is for faster data acquisition as PCI-6221 gets data from one channel smaller than the real.

Thank you very much.

PCI-5112 needs the NI-Scope driver.

It should work as long as you've one of the driver versions per this table, try selecting Update driver in Device Manager, that might force Windows to search for the driver again.

I downloaded NI-SCOPE3.5.0 and found that includes drivers for 5110, 5111, and 5113, having 5112 skipped exactly. The device manager can find it but says no drivers as well.

Do you mean '3.5.0' or '23.5.0'? what version did you install and what OS?

I installed 3.5.0 NI-Scope. In the "readme" file, it does include PCI-5112. But the OS is too old. My PC is windows 10.

For Windows 10, you need at least NI-Scope 16.0, and v3.5 may not work with Win10 as it was tested only for 32-bit versions.

Thank you very much. I'll see if NI-SCOPE 16 works and update here.

I got a new computer and I'll install an older version of Windows in 32-bit. I'll update here if it would work. Thank you

Best,

X

Here is the latest update:

Summary: it worked.

It requires: NI-Scope installed on 32-bit Windows System and NI-scope 16.0 to be installed as the driver is needed.

Windows 10 doesn't have 32-bit systems as far as I've tested.

Hopefully, this info is helpful.
