NI max cannot find VISA resource name for NI GPIB USB HS device

Solved!

Hi guys

I want to use labview to connect Agilent PNA Network analyzer using GPIB cable.

Labview cannot found visa resource name of it, just shows like below. I tried ways of reinstalling NI 488.2 and restart the NI GPIB Hardware Enumeration service, but still not working.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

First the stupid things:

1. Is the PNA set up to communicate over GPIB?

2. Did you hit the "Scan for Instruments" button?

Hi, thanks for the reply!

The GPIB setting on PNA has no problem.

When I hit on scanning for instruments, the system shows me cannot find any instruments.

I found the problem. There are 2 GPIB ports on the back of my VNA. One is for connecting external device, one is not.

Ah, you have one of those.  Yes, I have had that problem myself.  One of the reasons I prefer using the Ethernet connection instead of GPIB.
