NI-VISA 18 Installation hangs on 0% in Windows 10 x64

Stuck on 0%Stuck on 0%

Trying to install NI Visa 18 in Windows 10 64 bit but the installer gets stuck.

I tried to turn of the Windows Firewall, and run the installation program as an Administrator. Still, the installer gets stuck on 0%.

Trying  to cancel doesn't work either, I have to terminate the process.

I was seeing the same thing.  It appears to be getting stuck on the IVI Compliance installer (at least for me).  Cancel did work, it just took ~30 seconds for it to actually cancel.  Never did get it to work.

If you are using Windows 10 updated to version 1809 (the September 2018 update)  the article bellow may potentially solve the issue. Let me know if this helps.

Kind regards,

Nope, unfortunately it didnt help. I'm running Windows 10 version 1803, but I tried to change the Regional Settings to English UK anyway. Same problem though.

Any other suggestions?

There is a problem with the web installer We see it here too.  The monolithic device drivers rollup installs correctly

So I need to download 12 GB of stuff i don't need? Ridiculous.

Shouldn't National Instruments fix their Visa installer instead?!

Yes and yes.  The download will be quicker though.

Only, that version did not work for me on my Windows 10 machines.  I just got the latest update (includes VISA 18.5), so I will be trying that one out soon.

I now have the DD18.5 extracted on my H drive (Its getting a lot of installs in the group because IVI Compliance web installer is busted)

Which VISA 18.0 (and I assume 18.5) depends on now for some unknown reason.  The IVI Compliance install is exactly where I was getting my hangups.

No, I have not made it to a computer to test the new installer yet.
