MAX can find the address of instrument but no response from SR530

I connect Lock-in Amplifier(SR530) with GPIB. After I scan device with Measurement&Automation, the address of instrument can be found but in the discription show "instrument didn't response with *idn". and can't use the GPIB READ to get the signal from this SR530.

There are some conflicts between the Stanford Research Systems instruments (SR510, SR530, or SR245)and NI-GPIB boards.

If your GPIB board communicates fine with other instruments, this might be the problem.

One workaround is to place a 270 pF capacitor between pin 10 (ground) and pin 17 (DAC) of the instrument's GPIB connector/cable (part number 75161).

Please contact Stanford Research Systems at (408) 744 9040 for more information about this problem.

Hi:

My name is Alejandro Silva, and I have the same problem with Labview 6.1 with a PCI-GPIB  card ( NI-488.2 v1.7 library) and the SR530 Lock In Amplifier, what can I do to solve that problem??, MAX can find the address, just like the first case, but  the instrument can't respond to any command. The problem is not the PCI-GPIB or the software, cause I can communicate perfectly with a LakeShore 331S Temperature Controller.

Thanks a Lot

Have you try with 488.1. SR510 not support 488.2
