Looking for a functio to extract single float grom GPIB read

I just bought NI Instrument Simulator. The user manual has some LabView examples that use a function with title/description "extract single floats" The icon has the numbers 1.7 and 4.1 along with [SGL]. I can not locate this function anywhere. It can be a VI, but I can not locate a VI with that name. Does anyone know what it is and where it is?

Hi Fermiguy,

I saw the VI that you are talking about showin in pictures in the manual for the Instrument Simulator. I couldn't find a VI that did this, so I created one that should do the same thing. I'll attach it to this post. It's fairly straight forward. Just supply the string output coming from your Visa Read or GPIB Read and use it as an input to this VI.
