IOTECH PCMICA GPIB

Hi All

I have bought a IOTECH Personal488/CARD a PCMICA GPIB card and have
managed to get it installed into a Laptop and running GPIB Write and READ
commands.

However I cannot get it to use the VISA command it gives me an error

IOtech GPIb-32.DLL Err
Unimplemented function-ibdiag Please contact Factry.

In answer to my question about this I have been told .....

"IBDIAG is not supported, since the only function that this provides is to
report the hardware that is installed. In this case you are aware of the
IEEE card that is fitted, so it is not necessary. Unfortunately the VISA
commands tend to make extensive use of this function, so I would recommend
using the low level GPIB commands."

Has anyone else come across this pr
oblem and have any better suggestions /
alternatives
to re-writting all my drivers that currently use VISA to using basic GPIB
reads and writes

As i know the VISA supports NI and Agilent(HP) GPIB only. Is the IOtech
GPIB
really supported by VISA? Or you are just using NI-VISA with your IOtech?
