How to interfacing RS232 serial port with SR630 Thermocouple Monitor

Hi,

I have tried to interfacing the RS232 Serial Port with SR630 Thermocouple Monitor.

It's not working at all. Anyone have any idea on how to interface both of it?

The drivers available in the Instrument Driver Network are writte to use GPIB. However, they use VISA, so it should be difficult to modify them slightly to make them work with serial.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried that as well. It's really very difficult to modify to Serial from GPIB driver VISA. Is there any other way to interface it?

First, you should use a terminal emulator program such as Hyperterminal, Procomm, etc to verify the com settings and serial cable are correct.

Second, the driver only requires the modification of a single VI - the initialize function so it is really not that difficult at all. You can follow the methods used in the Agilent 34401 driver that comes with LabVIEW. You probably also need the LabVIEW tutorial.
