Hardware does not respond when connected with Remote desktop

Hello,

I have a PC with labview controlling a power supply via a serial connection. It works fine, except when I am looged in remotely to my lab PC from another PC via Remote desktop. The VI runs correctly, but the hardware doesn't seem to receive the commands. Why would that be?

If you set it up, the remote computer could be trying to use the serial port on the computer you are remot desktopping from.  Carefully go through the remote desktop settings and make sure you aren't telling the remote computer to use your local ports.

Indeed, all I had to do was to untick the "use local serial ports" box...
