GPIB "Spy" software?

Does anyone know of a "Spy" program that I can use to capture traffic
on the GPIB bus? I need to capture commands and responses of an
existing software package so I can interperate how they are configuring
their device.

Thanks in advance

There are two possible solutions for this: NI-SPY and the GPIB Analyzer.

http://www.ni.com/support/trouble/gpib/max/nispy.htm
http://www.ni.com/support/trouble/gpib/max/analyzer.htm

NI-SPY operates at the driver level, which means you can use this tool with
any GPIB board. The Analyzer requires the proper HW support on your card
to use (e.g. any NI GPIB board with a "+" in the name: PCI-GPIB+,
AT-GPIB+, etc.), but allows you to view the GPIB bus at a lower level of
abstraction.

NI spy can be used to monitor GPIB traffic.  Is there an

equivalent  software package that can monitor NI VISA on an USB bus?  I would like to monitor the VISA data traffic from an existing executable.  I do not have the source code.

Hello Yahwhey:

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. NI Spy captures GPIB traffic as well as VISA traffic.
