Hello,
I would like to setup an easy connection between my GPIB-ENET/1000 ethernet adapter and a soft-PLC running on the same windows computer. It is a beckhoff industrial PC with TwinCAT PLC.
I would like to send and receive a string from the GPIB instrument.
Is it possible to emulate the GPIB instrument as a seriel COM port or are there a better solution?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your post.
Are you trying to convert GPIB to Serial?
If so, have you seen this addon:
GPIB Serial Converter Software 1.0 - Windows XP, Windows 2000 - National Instruments

Hi,
The link you suggest is for the GPIB-RS232 box.
What I ask for is a way to get a similar functionality but with the GPIB-ENET box, because I already got the GPIB-ENET box and the ethernet connection is more stable than the old rs-232 connection.
But I need a way to connect to the GPIB instrument from Beckhoff TwinCat software on my PC, which would be easy if it 'looked like' a serial port in windows.

Hi,
Have you had a chance to contact Beckhoff on this?
Thanks,
