Communicating with an Extech HD300 Anemometer

check the producer consumer template.

In the producer read the bytes from serial port and only send them to the consumer.

Don't have a wait in there.

In the first version of the consumer only throw away the data.

If you still have overflow, there is something wrong with the sender

Not sure if I'm allowed to continue to post on this thread since my project has since moved out of the range of serial communication, but I hate inconclusive threads when I find them, so I'll bring this to more of a close. I became too frustrated with the intermitten successes of serial communication and decided to go straight for voltage readings via DAQ board. The rest of my adventure continues with my determining which wire is which here, and then going from voltage spikes to RPM here. Thanks everyone for your help. Also, where would a good place be where I could share my entire experience with pictures and code working with labview and my project online?
