Can I see which VISA or GPIB calls an IVI driver makes?

I am having some trouble using an IVI driver with my instrument. I am able to get the information I need using direct VISA calls but not through the IVI driver. I figured if I could see which VISA (or GPIB) calls the IVI driver makes it would help point me in the right direction. Actually I am not so interested in the actual driver calls, but rather the SCPI messages. Using NI IO Trace (NI Spy) I can only see the calls to the IVI driver but not the underlying VISA/GPIB calls.

Is there a way to see the commands that are used by the IVI driver in communicating with the instrument?

If it helps I am using the IviAcPwr_ni class driver.

Seems that if I use the instrument specific IVI driver instead of the IVI class driver, then I do see the VISA calls. Not sure if it is true for all drivers, but works for me.
