Can I connect PCI 8431/8 Port RS 422 Card using cable part no. 192061-02 ( SHC68-68-EPM Shielded cable)

Hi,

I have ordered NI PCI 8431 / 8 Port  RS 422 card. It has 68 pin connecctor. The card comes along with cable which 68 pin to 8 DB 9 connector. Instead of using this cable, can i use NI cable part no. 192061-02 to my test system. This makes my connection very simple.

Please calrify whether this will work or  not.

Hello,

After looking at the pinout for the cable you mentioned (192061-02), I see that the cable is not compatible with carrying signals from the PCI-8431/8.  The cable is mostly a straight through cable, but it is not capable of transmitting all of the required serial signals.
